Thruxton 16th – 18th April

Suspension settings continued to cause us problems on Friday and Saturday although Dan and Wayne continued making changes with the help of Maxton.

The adjustments resulted in a steady improvement in times moving Dan towards the head of the Cup riders.
The final practice on Saturday afternoon saw Dan record the 18th fastest lap at 1.18.155 – third fastest in the Cup.

In the Sunday morning warm up Dan was quickest of the Cup riders and 14th fastest overall. He therefore went into the race in a confident mood.  A fast start was essential in order to move ahead of the Cup competitors.  Dan had a great start, riding around the outside of some of the riders ahead of him on the grid, achieving 11th place at the end of the first lap.

Dan stayed in a small group for much of the race, fighting with Lee Johnson and Jason O’Halloran. Towards the end of the race a couple of slides meant that Dan decided to settle for 11th – with Guy Martin just over a second behind.
11th position was a fantastic result. Dan beat many established Supersport riders and, more importantly, was the winner of the Cup race. Dan ended the day leading the Cup Championship by 4 points and lying 15th overall in the British Supersport Championship.
