Practice week at the TT saw Dan building up his speeds although the cancellation of the Thursday practice meant that we were still searching for a satisfactory set up for the Superbike. He only managed one and half laps of practice on the Superstock bike.
In the first event, the Superbike race – we were plagued by handling problems. The changes made after the last practice session made the bike worse and it was almost unrideable. On lap 3 Dan retired from the race.
Monday was our best day. The first Supersport race was stopped on the 2nd lap following an accident. Dan was running in a solid 5th place.
In the restarted race Dan was running with the factory bikes and finished in 6th winning a sliver replica.
The Superstock race held on Monday afternoon once again saw Dan riding with the top TT racers. He finished in 7th position achieving his fastest ever lap on the mountain course – 127.2mph. We were the 2nd Kawasaki home. Another silver!

Wednesday’s Supersport race was stopped due to rain in the circuit. Dan was running in 3rd place and, under the circumstances, would have been happy to see the race continue.
The race was rerun on Thursday and, unfortunately, Dan retired on the final lap. At the time he was running in 5th place catching Guy Martin. Cameron Donald’s retirement on the same lap meant that we could have achieved a podium position. Handling problems, once again, affected the senior race. Dan, however, managed to finish in 12th place – his 3rd silver. Unusually, the race was unaffected by retirements.
Overall, the meeting was a success. Dan was singled out for praise by the TV commentators and it is clear that he is now a leading TT rider. Our thanks to David Traynor for the excellent images
